Who sends these messages
Text messages come from Hey OK, a product of OrdinaryKids LLC. Hey OK is a conversational app for personal reflection and check-ins.
How you opt in
There is one place to opt in, and it is inside the Hey OK iOS app:
- Download Hey OK and sign in.
- During first-run setup you reach a screen asking for your phone number. Entering it sends a one-time verification code so we can confirm the number is yours.
- On that same screen there is a checkbox — unchecked by default — that reads “Text me check-ins and reminders.”, with the full disclosure beneath it.
- Ticking that box is the opt-in. It is optional: you can skip the whole screen, or verify your number without ticking it, and continue using the app either way.

Consent is never a condition
We never require SMS consent to create an account, to finish setup, or to use any part of Hey OK. Verifying your phone number and agreeing to receive texts are recorded separately, and you can do the first without the second.
